Notes | Liam, Kaihl and Tim all first timers at HoGS that night and Liam had a Hansa Teutonic the Big Box, and was keen to play as was I. So we did. Learned a new rule, on the placement of the bonus tiles. My rulebook says "onto the board over any route a long as route does not have a Bonus Marker already, is completely empty, and has an office on at least 1 of its adjacent cities" We understood an "office" to be a cube or disc on a city space. But it apparently means the city space itself. In my rules, the margin notes are more clear and say "Choose a route without Bonus Markers and resources and with one free office left in one of the adjacent cities" The Big box rules were clear in the text on this, too. We had always played it, so you have to have a filled office on at least one side of the road, and it actually means one free office on either side. This makes placement much more flexible than it was. To be honest not convinced that was a good thing, just added more analysis paralysis to the placement process, as suddenly, basically the whole board is open to placement But that's the rule. |
